This week’s Kidizen Shop of the Week is Mangofandango! Meet Sarah and her family.
Sarah’s Story: I’m Sarah and I live in Vermont with my little family. My kiddos are Sophie, almost 6, and Enoch, almost 1. They are good buddies and really sweet together… and I hope it stays that way. They are both July babies! July is also my wedding anniversary with my spouse, so July is a happy month for us. 🙂
Kids brands you like:
We like Mini Boden(their link removal team asked me to no longer post links to their site so you can Google the site if you really want to), Polarn O. Pyret, Hanna Andersson, H&M, Naartjie, Kickee Pants, and good ol’ Carters! We also like a lot of small businesses that sell kid clothing, local and online…such as Happy Fantastic, New Duds, and Pigtail Pals Ballcap Buddies.
We are into comfort and play appropriate clothing, but style and originality are always fun and important. Since I have both a boy and a girl, and because I’m not a huge fan of enforcing the gender binary, I love kid clothes that are gender neutral AND fun. That said, my daughter does have an entire drawer full of dresses. She just also really likes her shark t-shirt, and Enoch is rocking pink sweatpants today. 😉
And then sometimes my daughter dresses like this. I call it “eccentric ragamuffin”? (LOVE IT!)
Favorite score on Kidizen: My daughter in particular has gotten a ton of great stuff! But I’d never even seen Naartjie before Kidizen, and this piece got me started on that brand and is one of my favorite cozy PJs for my son:
Imaginary Fashion Coalition: I’m not sure! My fashion sense for both myself and my kids is sort of a mix of comfort, hipster, and quirky. So who would be a good choice? Maybe your readers can tell me. 😉
I’d wear these if I could, for example:
Life motto: I should develop a life motto, I don’t have one! There’s a lot of great wisdom in the world, though, and I’m indecisive – how to boil it down to one thing?
Funny things your kid(s) have said or done: Sophie is full of bon mots. Recently when the baby woke up from his nap, she said he was “sweatier than an elephant on Mercury!” (hahahaha!)
Best parenting advice received: Your child isn’t giving you a hard time, they are having a hard time. (well said, TRUTH!)
It’s such a great perspective adjustment for when you feel like they are whining AT YOU and their upsets are exhausting. I mean, they absolutely are exhausting, but I still try to keep this perspective in mind and react with compassion whenever I can.
Advice for newbies on Kidizen: Don’t be shy! I find that being active on Kidizen brings me the most enjoyment and attention for my shop – it’s a win win of community building and sales. 🙂
Any special promotions? I have quite a bit of baby clothing…and I know it’s not the biggest seller, so most of it is priced to move! Check out Mangofandango for some great deals!!
