I’ve been getting up earlier every morning.
Stress can do that to you but I also think that it’s my body’s way of trying to appropriate the schedule that I had last year when I was working on the Google Express project.
I was assigned to Raley’s/Nob Hill and needed to get there before 7am, driving from Palo Alto to Los Gatos. Not exactly too far but it meant that I had to wake up no later than 5:45am. For a recovering night owl like me, it wasn’t easy!
I like to do stuff in the mornings, which leads me to this post. The Salvation Army thrift store in Hayward can be quite fruitful.
I’m so glad that I walked over to this black dress! There was something interesting about it but I was lost in thought and thrilled that I scored some BRAND NEW vintage 90’s blush pink platform Jack Purcell Converse sneakers.
I’ll keep this dress for my personal collection, as it’s an All Saints! It’s a size 6 and fits a bit loosely but a dress clip will definitely fix that. Their sizing is interesting as I have a couple of other dresses in their size 6. Guess what? They all fit very differently!
I joked with the sales associate that the loop in front is a napkin ring for Thanksgiving and she and a customer genuinely laughed. This is a brand that I’ve never heard of from Asia. It might be a cheapie, but here’s the thing.
The jersey material is QUITE HEAVY and OPAQUE and it’s cut absolutely beautifully. Too bad I didn’t have this dress for my Halloween costume this year. I’ll have to take pics of it on because this dress is really something.

This dress is so fun! It’s very flattering on, even though I had visions of Helen Roper as I slipped it over my tank top. If you know me at all, you know that I abhor dressing rooms. Usually I can put clothes over my form fitting whatever I’m wearing and can gauge the fit accordingly.
I adore the print, it’s metaphysical and reminds of a Phoenix all at once. A lovely find that I’ll layer for the coming winter.
I bring you, without further adieu, a brand new pair of deadstock 90’s platform Jack Purcells! Converse. Amazing, and I would surely keep them IF THEY FIT. However, they’re a size 7.5, boo hiss.
