The End of 2016: Bye Felicia

If you’ve been following this blog for awhile,  you’ll notice that I have an uncanny knack for finding some of the coolest shoes.

Here are the thrift finds for December. This post will most likely be the last one on this site before the new year.

Keeping it real: I’ve had a lot of trouble with managing my time between my software development apprenticeship, thrift finds, and parenting. I’m a little sad that I haven’t been able to devote my time to the friendships in my life, especially the important ones, so here’s to understanding and making more time for each other in 2017.

I wish you all wonderful times and amazing memories! I’m unsure what I’ll be doing to ring in the new year, but it probably includes catching up on some sleep!

There’s not much more to say about the people that are dying lately other than “Bye, Felicia” to 2016. However, I need to post two things:

Tell me how much you love this art of Carrie Fisher as Leia from Alex Garant??

RIP. I still haven’t recovered from Bowie, and I don’t think I ever will.

Here’s a pictorial roundup of the items that I’ve found in December:

I wish this dress fit me! It’s a cool print that features squid from Modcloth. One of my local thrift haunts had a 50% off sale and you bet that I scooped this right up. Size 1x, which proves that designers can make stylish and cute clothes for every single body out there.

Here’s a lovely dress from Hell Bunny Vixen. Rarely do I partake in the pinup stylings anymore. Maybe it’s just not me at this space and time.Hell Bunny Vixen Dress - December Thrift Find

Now onto the other scores for this month!
These QualiCraft Casualets black mule shoes are at least as old as I am and are in pretty good shape. They fit, and I’m unsure if I’ll keep them even though they fit.

Everyone remembers the first time they appreciated a dress from Betsey Johnson and this one is right up there. Pics don’t do it any justice, and it’s got the 1980’s black label with the white stitching. In immaculate shape and it was only $6.49!! 1980’s winter acrylic knit sweater that I gave to a friend!Vintage Winter Acrylic Sweater - December Thrift Find

VANS’ Leather SK-8 Hi Slim Zip shoes in black/leopard (in my size!) in excellent shape. Currently retailing for $85 on their site. Purchased for $7.49.

After much research, I have 99% confidence that this Kate Spade bag is authentic. It’s the style called Wellesley Byrd, and the only thing to note is that the top handle is missing. At $4.99, this was a steal!

See the end of this blog post for links that I found that were very helpful. Counterfeiting is a multimillion dollar industry that I don’t want to support, so I rarely buy big name brands because you just never know.

This handbag is from Hobo International, and it’s soft and buttery. It holds a surprising amount of items and cost me the large sum of $6.99.

I’ve coveted this Adidas bag ever since it came out around 15 years ago. I was ecstatic to find it at my local haunt for $8.99!
This little one turned two before Christmas, and I can’t believe it.

I’m elated that Santa brought me some goodies with these Valley glasses and a new brush set from Sigma Beauty. The Flat Kabuki F80 brush is a dream for any base makeup. Super blending and nearly airbrushed finish. Valley Eyewear and Sigma Beauty Brushes

What are you looking forward to in the coming year?

I’m thankful for my wonderful friends, even with this exhaustive, time prohibitive schedule. It’s time to clone myself so I can do all the things!

Health and happiness some major goals in 2017.
